Welcome to An African-American Perspective, a newsletter designed for the residents of North Central Pennsylvania. The purpose of this publication is to bring to the table of discussion, the unique perspectives of African-Americans. With a clear unequivable voice within the wider community, Black Americans can freely present their thoughts and feelings regarding contemporary issues. Election time. October, 2007
The Mayor's seat is up for grabs.
Three guys are running for Mayor of Williamsport.

One Republican. One Democrat. And one Republican running as a write-in candidate for the Office of mayor of Williamsport. Here's what their websites say about them.

According to Dr. Gabe Campana’s website:

“Dr. Gabriel J. Campana was born and raised in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He is an educator in the Williamsport Area School District. In addition, Masters Degree classes were taught by Gabe at The College of New Jersey (Trenton State College) and via RTC as an adjuct Assistant Professor. He is a veteran of Williamsport City Council and has graduated from the following institutions of higher learning: University of Sarasota, Harvard University, Wilkes University, and Bloomsburg University.

He has been a city councilman for 11 years. He has a wife and two children.



According William McConnell’s resume on his campaign website:

He is the part-owner of Cuts Fitness for Men, Williamsport, PA.: A Circuit Training Fitness business. He also has extensive training on library sciences and computer technology.

William McConnell says in his campaign brochure that he has specific plans for the revitalization, public safety, promotion, ethics and city finances of Williamsport.



According to Tom O’Connor’s website:

He is the owner and operator of Ed’s Market. He has been a city council member since 1994 and council president since 2000. He is married and has 2 children and 3 grand children.

His site also includes: Graduate of St. Joseph High School, Williamsport; U. S. Air Force veteran; Associate’s Degree, WACC (now Penn College); Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Lycoming College; Former Certified Public Accountant and partner at Cooney, Klein and O’Connor, a local accounting firm.

Tom O'Connor is a write-in candidate.
